CONSTRUCTION OF KENYA’S MAKUPA BRIDGE TO COMPLETE IN JUNE 2022
The construction of the Makupa Bridge is fast taking shape. It is expected to be complete in June, 2022. The Makupa Causeway was constructed in 1929 to serve as a link between Mombasa Island and the main land. Over the years, traffic volumes have significantly increased beyond the design capacity of the Causeway making it a major bottleneck in the entry and exit from the Island. The completion of this project will be vital in improving connectivity into and out of Mombasa County.
